Dear Partners,

it is my pleasure to introduce you to Open Door International, a non-profit high school student exchange organisation located in Cologne, Germany! I like to invite you to obtain a first impression of the work and philosophy of our exchange organisation. The German organisation OPEN DOOR Student Exchange was founded in 1983. In 1988 the organisation was awarded state recognition as a non-profit organisation for work promoting international understanding. OPEN DOOR Student Exchange e.V. became part of the Nacel International Network in 2003 and adopted in 2008 its new name Open Door International e.V. We also celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2008! It is our goal to support cultural tolerance and understanding and cross-cultural communication between young people. We wish to help our students, host families and host schools develop life-long friendships and partnerships while broadening their own horizons. With our dense and experienced network of local representatives all over Germany you and your students benefit from our bundled experience as well as from our permanent and close contact to your students and their host families.

Each student's needs and interests are different and specific and so is the choice of programs we offer. The general idea stays the same: We at Open Door International will help you and your students make their stay in Germany a most enriching experience, to provide them with a warm and welcoming ambiance and smooth their way into our country, our language and our culture.
