Ich habe ein halbes Jahr im wunderschönen Neuseeland am anderen Ende der Welt gelebt. Zu Beginn war mir nicht klar, auf was ich mich eigentlich einlasse und ich hatte keine Vorstellungen wie es sein wird. Freudestrahlend und aufgeregt bin ich in der ersten Sommerferienwoche abgeflogen und habe erst im Landeanflug nach Neuseeland gemerkt, auf was ich mich eigentlich einlasse. Ein Leben ohne die Familie und ohne die Freunde, am anderen Ende der Welt.

Doch nach einer Dusche und einer warmen Lasagne bei meiner Gastfamilie war die Angst verflogen und ich habe mit meiner Gastfamilie bis Mitternacht pausenlos geredet.
Nach 12 Stunden Schlaf bin ich dann am nächsten Morgen aufgewacht und war bereit für mein Abenteuer.

Es war ein Abenteuer und ich habe einiges mehr als hier im normalen Leben während meiner Zeit gelernt. Es gibt jeden Tag neue Aufgaben, die es zu lösen gibt und viele neue Sachen die man erlebt. Man macht Erfahrungen, die einen älter werden lassen.
Bei mir war es ein Erdbeben, das meine Stadt Christchurch durch gerüttelt hat, doch es hat mich kein einziges Mal an meinem Aufenthalt zweifeln lassen. Es hat meine Familie, Freunde und mich nur noch enger zusammen geschweißt und sogar diese Erfahrung gehört zu meinen positiven, in denen ich gelernt habe.

Meine Gastfamilie und ich sind zwei Mal zusammen in den Urlaub gefahren. Wir haben zusammen die ganze Südinsel erkundet und ich habe mich sofort in die atemberaubende Natur verliebt. Gigantische Wasserfälle, ein abenteuerlicher Regenwald und wunderschöne Berge.

Das zweite Mal ging es dann an die goldenen Strände zur Spitze der Südinsel und ich dachte ich bin im Paradies angekommen. Doch nicht nur die Natur hat mich fasziniert, auch die Menschen, die in Neuseeland leben.
Ein lebensfrohes, gelassenes, aufgeschlossenes Volk und der Anschluss in der Gastfamilie sowie in der Schule ist schnell gefunden, wenn man genauso lebensfroh, gelassen und offen ist. Vor allem meine Gastfamilie ist mir richtig ans Herz gewachsen. Es war meine eigene Familie und ich habe ein zweites Zuhause dazu gewonnen. Der Rückflug ist schon geplant und ich kann es kaum abwarten, wieder alle in die Arme zu schließen und „nach Hause“ zu kommen.

Habt keine Angst vor Veränderungen, denn euer Leben wird ganz anders sein als ihr es gewohnt seid, doch das ist gerade das Tolle daran. Es fängt an mit der Schuluniform, die getragen werden muss, geht weiter über die Sportarten, die dort gespielt werden, die Straßen und Häuser, die anders aussehen, die Sprache, die man nicht gewohnt ist zu sprechen und endet mit den Essgewohnheiten der Familie.

Mit der Schuluniform habe ich mich zwar noch nicht angefreundet, doch die Sportarten haben es mir angetan. Ich habe verschiedene Sportarten angefangen und  bin sogar auf das Surfbrett gesprungen.
Die Straßen und Häuser werden zur Gewohnheit und die Sprache war nach 2 Tagen kein Problem mehr. Den Akzent eignet man sich schnell an und mir ist es passiert, dass ich nur noch in Englisch gedacht und geträumt habe. Es ist ein tolles Gefühl, eine andere Sprache als Deutsch flüssig zu sprechen.

Natürlich gab es auch kleine Probleme, die aufgetreten sind, doch ich denke mein größtes war das Busfahren und zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort anzukommen.

Mit einer Portion Glück, positiver Einstellung und Offenheit ist es das auch!
Ich möchte keinen dieser Momente missen und bin mir sicher, dass ich die richtige Entscheidung getroffen habe!
